Detection of Slip Fault of the Belt Conveyor
The working environment and working conditions of the mining belt conveyor are quite complex and harsh, which is prone to all sorts of unexpected incidents. How to guarantee the normal work of the belt conveyor and reduce the accidents? Once there is an accident, we must discover and give the repair to improve efficiency and reduce losses, which has become a problem in front of the designers. This article will analyze the common causes of failure and detection methods for the mining belt conveyor.
The working principles of the skid protection system are the followings. The skid protection system uses the sensors to measure the belt speed and the speed of the driving drum. Then the belt speed and the speed of the driving drum are compared. In normal operation, there is no difference between the two kinds of speed. Therefore, there is no output. If the skidding occurs, there is difference and output. We must delay to protect the machine. We may also use a sensor to detect the belt speed. The belt conveyor can be protected when the belt speed is more than its normal value or below the normal speed. The latter uses fewer elements and the lines are simpler, but the reliability is lower. Therefore, we had better use the former method. The use of the speed sensor to detect the speed of the belt conveyor can achieve the speeding slip protection.
The common speed sensors mainly include the followings. First, the sx-1 type sensor is a magnetoresistive sensor, which is mainly composed by the permanent magnet and a coil wound thereon. It has been made of explosion-proof type. Second, the magnetic sensor is mainly composed by the permanent magnet and multi-toothed wheel and the coil. When the permanent magnet multi-toothed wheel installed on the shaft rotates in the coil, it will produce induced electric potential due to the cutting magnetic line of force in the coil. The frequency of the output pulse signal in the coil is directly proportional to the number of teeth and the belt speed of the multi-toothed wheel. Third, the magnetic induction transmitter essentially is a reluctance type sensor. It consists of a permanent magnet and a coil, etc. The output voltage is 2V to 6V and the current is approximately 2MA.
